Meet Celeste
God has a plan and a path for every aspect of our life. Nothing He sets before us is by chance.
It is no coincidence that Celeste N. Bowers is blessed with the gifts of making people laugh, writing, coaching, public speaking, mentoring, and being a mom. All these gifts held crucial roles when her ten-year-old daughter Christina was diagnosed with cancer.
My Story
Bowers was born and raised in Fort Lee, NJ, across from New York City. She dreamed of being a stand-up comic. Little did she know that the most critical stage of her life would be set in a hospital room, performing entertaining routines for a precious audience of one. These routines would help her daughter laugh and smile despite the drastic side effects of chemotherapy.
In addition to making people laugh, Bowers has a gift for writing. Bowers' writing experience includes two published poems, "A Silent Battle" and "The Game of Life."
As a softball coach, Bowers loved the game on the field, yet Christina shows us the game that counts is when we walk off of it-- the "Game of Life," thus inspiring Bowers to write a poem by the same title. Bowers shares about playing in the game of life when she speaks to groups of all ages and how to add special touches within our daily journey tied to those we love who are no longer here with us physically.
"If There's a Mailbox in Heaven," rereleased in 2019 with added touches, ties all Bowers's gifts together. The world looks closely at Christina's incredible walk and testimony and how her faith never wavered! Christina's words, "It's not about me. It's about Christ working through me," live on. Christina's testimony and Celeste's newfound purpose are connected in “When Your Voice Became Mine.” Bowers explores how God's blessing through the ordeal and beyond shapes who she is today. Every package sent to Heaven is bundled in love and filled with purpose as Christ works through her.
An unending fitness journey has helped Bowers rebuild the sadness that has broken within her throughout the years. Bowers's passion for fitness fills her days and encourages others on their health journey. All are inspired through a Facebook social media group called "Christina's Crew." On Instagram, it is called @christinamailboxinheven. Each day starts with an attitude of gratitude. The crew members desire to strive for a higher quality of life while looking up— always looking up!
Time is a precious gift dedicated to a project Bowers calls "A Cup of Hope." Bowers has shared this invitation with counselors at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, better known as CHOC. For any mom, dad, or guardian who wishes to share their story after losing a child, Celeste is there at a nearby coffee shop. A cup of encouragement and hope are sometimes all we need. Bowers hopes that by sharing her journey, others will find their new way and purpose.
The sweetest little boy, Koa, and his family secure the other gift of time. God blesses us and gives us new purpose when we are not looking. In December of 2020, Bowers became an honorary auntie, and this has become one of her greatest joys!
As a mom, her most cherished role is never to stop sending all that is within to her daughter in Heaven. Celeste N. Bowers, her husband Ted, and her son Teddy all look up to their Heavenly Father, knowing Christina is right there with Him, and are anxious for the day they will be reunited!
